Inclusion Council

What is the Inclusion Council?

The Inclusion Council is a cross-functional, multi-disciplinary, and multi-identity group of Team Members dedicated to advancing our cultural initiatives. Acting on behalf of the organization, we cultivate an environment of integrity, respect, inclusivity, and belonging by promoting awareness and education to foster a more collaborative, innovative, and engaged workforce.

We challenge ourselves to think creatively, leveraging both existing and emerging best practices to strengthen competencies essential to our success:

  • Valuing Differences
  • Developing Talent
  • Driving Engagement
  • Building Networks

As the world evolves, so will we. By fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation, we ensure that every Team Member has the opportunity to be curious, be heard, and be respected – keeping this commitment at the heart of our organizational culture.

FAQs

Inclusion Council is open to Team Members across all roles and levels who are committed to fostering a culture of integrity, respect, and belonging. Members should be willing to engage in meaningful discussions, share perspectives, and contribute to cultural initiatives.
Members are selected through an application and evaluation process to ensure diverse representation of perspectives, experiences, and backgrounds. The goal is to maintain a team that reflects the broader U.S. Engineering community.
Members are expected to actively participate in meetings, contribute to initiatives, and serve as advisors for cultural progress within their teams. They should foster open dialogue, bring forward insights, and help drive meaningful action.
We anticipate each Council member will dedicate 4-6 hours a month meeting with fellow Council members and carrying out the work of the Council.
Members commit to a minimum two-year term, with flexibility to accommodate individual circumstances or business needs. New members may be onboarded periodically to maintain continuity and bring fresh perspectives.
We empower Inclusion Council members to use their collective voice and creativity to identify opportunities and provide strategic guidance. Given the potential impact, some recommendations may require Executive Committee approval.
The Inclusion Council’s impact will be tracked through engagement surveys, participation metrics, and feedback from team members. Progress will also be evaluated based on the implementation of initiatives and cultural improvements over time.
